Chainsaw Maintenance, Crosscutting and Felling up to 380mm (CS30, CS31)

A five day training course to learn the skills to maintain and operate a chainsaw for cross cutting and the felling and processing of small trees, including the felling of hung up trees. It will provide the knowledge and skills required for learners to be assessed in the qualifications.

Chainsaw Maintenance and Crosscutting (CS30)

A two day training course to learn the skills to maintain and operate a chainsaw for the cross cutting of timber. It will provide the knowledge and skills required for learners to be assessed in the qualifications.

  • Minimising environmental damage

A four day integrated training and assessment course in the felling of medium and large trees. It will provide the knowledge and skills required for learners to be assessed in the qualifications.

Pre requisites – Chainsaw Maintenance and Crosscutting (CS30) and Felling of Trees under 380mm (CS31).

The course covers:

A five day training course to learn the skills to access a tree using a rope and harness and to undertake an aerial rescue operation. It will provide the knowledge and skills required for learners to be assessed in the qualifications.

Aerial Cutting of Trees using Free Fall Techniques (CS39)

A two day training course to learn the skills of operating a chainsaw in a tree whilst using a rope and harness.  It will provide the knowledge and skills required for learners to be assessed in the qualifications.

Pre requisite – Chainsaw Maintenance and Crosscutting (CS30) and Felling of Trees under 380mm (CS31) Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue (CS38)

The course covers:

A three day integrated training and assessment course to learn the skills of operating a chainsaw for pruning in a tree whilst using a chainsaw and a rope and harness.  It will provide the knowledge and skills required for learners to be assessed in the qualifications.

Pre requisites – Chainsaw Maintenance and Crosscutting (CS30) and Felling of Trees under 380mm (CS31) Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue (CS38) Aerial Cutting of Trees with a Chainsaw using Free Fall techniques (CS39)

The course covers:

  • Practical activities covering all aspects of tree pruning
  • Tree pruning at height
  • Use of rope and harness
  • Promoting health and safety and industry good practice
  • Aerial pruning of trees
  • Understand health and safety legislation

Aerial Tree Rigging (CS41)

A four day training course to learn the skills of taking down a tree whilst using a chainsaw and a rope and harness. It will provide the knowledge and skills required for learners to be assessed in the qualifications.

Pre requisites – Chainsaw Maintenance and Crosscutting (CS30) and Felling of Trees under 380mm (CS31) Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue (CS38) Aerial Cutting of Trees with a Chainsaw using Free Fall techniques (CS39)
